Materials to make the pumpkins

To make these pumpkin decorations, you will need the following materials:
- P.396 Manubens waxed cord color 9 medium gray.
- P.495 Manubens petersham cotton ribbon natural color in 5mm.
- Mismatched socks.
- Rice.
- Hot glue gun.
- Scissors.
- Small branches that you can collect by taking a walk in the forest with the kids.
Now that we have everything ready, let’s start with the step-by-step tutorial to make these pumpkins as autumn decorations for kids. You’ll see how easy it is.
2. How to make the pumpkins step by step

First, cut the sock about a finger above where the heel ends, as you can see in the photo.

Then, tell your little helpers to fill the sock with rice. Depending on the amount you put in, the pumpkin will be larger or smaller. This is up to your preference.

Make a double knot with a piece of waxed cord P.396 Manubens, pulling tight so that there can be no “accidents,” and the house doesn’t end up full of rice!

Do you have a lot of excess sock because this pumpkin is a little one? No problem. Cut off the extra piece, and you’re done.

With a long piece of cord, make another knot and start wrapping it around the pumpkin to simulate the folds. Shape it a bit flattened like pumpkins.

When you have the pumpkin shape finished, tie it again with a tight double knot.

Now that your pumpkin is ready, it’s time to apply the decorations.
3. How to apply decorations to decorate the pumpkins

Heat the glue gun, and when it’s ready, put a dot on one end of a small branch to make it look like the stem of the pumpkin. This is when the adult intervenes unless the kids are older and understand that they can get burned with the glue gun.

Hold it for a few seconds until the glue cools.

To finish, cut a piece of petersham cotton ribbon in a natural color and tie it to the stem to give it a decorative touch.

And there you have your collection of pumpkins ready to decorate! Aren’t they beautiful?
