Easy-to-make craft to give to mom
Congratulations, Mom, I made it! They tell you with a proud little face when they come out of school with the craft they’ve prepared for Mother’s Day. We melt with love because we know the effort and excitement that this gift represents, made with their own little hands thinking of you.
All children love crafts, especially if they are intended as a gift for someone so special. Learn to make this craft with this simple step-by-step tutorial to spend a peaceful afternoon or weekend morning with the kids preparing this special gift for mothers (and even grandmothers).
Materials needed to create this Mother’s Day craft

- P215 Manubens acrylic cord, 4mm wide, color 34.
- P541 Manubens taffeta ribbon, 6mm wide, color 76.
- Recycle old CDs that we don’t use. In total, we need 6 units.
- Popsicle sticks.
- Recycle a jar for the bike basket. About 8cm in diameter is fine.
- Silicone gun.
- Scissors.
Step 1: How to make the tricycle planter

We start the Mother’s Day craft with the wheels. For this, we join three pairs of CDs to make a total of 3 wheels. Cut a good piece of ribbon to start wrapping them.

Apply a drop of silicone on the inside of the pair of CDs to hold the first end of the ribbon, as seen in the image. If we run out of ribbon, repeat the operation at the point where we left off.

We wrap the wheel, making sure the ribbon is tight, without spaces.

Continue wrapping the pair of CDs, passing the cord through the central hole.

Once the entire wheel is wrapped, cut the excess end and apply a drop of silicone to finish. We will wrap a total of 3 wheels in this way.
Step 2. The handlebar and the structure of the tricycle planter

Take two sticks and apply a few drops of silicone on one side of one of the popsicle sticks.

And stick it to another, pressing until it cools. We will make a total of 5 pairs.

Apply a drop of silicone at one end to hold the cord and start wrapping.

Wrap the pair of sticks with the cord.

Finish with a drop of silicone at the other end. Repeat the process with the other 4 pairs of popsicle sticks.
Step 3. Guide to making the planter

Now we will wrap the bucket that will serve as a planter with the same cord.

Hold the first end with a drop of silicone and start wrapping.

Here too, we will ensure that it is well tense and without spaces. We can put some silicone points to secure the hold, being careful not to burn ourselves.

Apply silicone to the perimeter of the base of the bucket to finish.

Tighten the last turn of the cord with the silicone until it cools.
Step 4. We continue with the structure of the tricycle

Apply silicone from the center upwards on one side of the wheel to stick a wrapped stick.

Press until it cools.

Repeat the operation on the other side of the wheel.

When we have the two wrapped sticks facing each other and glued, we will put a little silicone on the upper end to hold the third horizontal stick that will serve as a handlebar.

We now have the tricycle handlebar ready. It’s getting closer to finishing the gift for mom.

Insert one of the remaining sticks in the center of the two wheels and secure them with silicone to make the rear axle. Then glue the horizontal sticks of the front wheel to this axle as shown in the image:

Now all we have to do is glue the bucket in the center of the rear wheel axle, just above the horizontal sticks.

We almost have the Mother’s Day gift finished: the final touch remains…
