DIY Christmas Ornaments
We love Christmas crafts with pinecones. Pinecones are the star material in Christmas decorations. Even if you live in an urban environment, they are easy to find with just a walk through the forest. Few crafting materials bring together the three Bs like pinecones: they are good, beautiful, and cheap.
The pinecone decoration we will teach you today is also perfect for recycling Christmas crafts and ornaments from other seasons. In addition to being extremely easy to make, we wanted to give it an even more festive and Christmassy touch with red velvet ribbon and Vichy ribbon.
Do you want to learn this craft with us? In this tutorial, we will explain:

- Manubens P.950 velvet ribbon, 16mm wide.
- Color 046 bull’s blood
- Manubens P.4600 Vichy ribbon, 5mm wide.
- Color 046 bull’s blood
- Pinecones collected from a walk in the forest.
- Scissors.
- Hot glue gun.

Cut as many strips of Manubens velvet ribbon as pinecones you want to use. Our suggestion is for 7 medium-sized pinecones. If yours are large, 3 might be enough. Cut them in different lengths so that the pinecones are staggered when hanging.

Put a hot glue dot in the center of the pinecone base and glue one end of the ribbon.

Hold it firmly until the glue has cooled. Repeat the process with all the pinecones.

Now that you have the pinecones attached to the velvet ribbon, cut a piece of Manubens Vichy ribbon for each pinecone.

Make a bow on the velvet ribbon, as you can see in the photo.

And now each pinecone has its ribbons. Just tie the other end and hang them on the front door!

3. How to recycle Christmas crafts from previous years
This tutorial is a great opportunity to make a Christmas ornament with useful material. If you are a fan of crafts, you probably have leftover red or perhaps dark green ribbons from other seasons.
If you don’t have leftovers, you can find velvet ribbons and Vichy ribbon in the color you prefer for this craft at your haberdashery supplier.
You can also use those that adorned centerpieces or recycle ones from a wreath you no longer like. We all have some pinecones in the Christmas decorations box that we hesitate to throw away but don’t know how to use. Well, you now have the solution with this tutorial!
- Always look for pinecones without a stem. If they have one, wrap it with ribbon and use at least two glue points to secure it well.
- If you can’t find dried pinecones for Christmas decorations in your area, fir trees can also provide a solution. Green fir cones are great for making Christmas crafts with pinecones. And, their aroma will fill your home with fragrance.
- Do you want to immerse yourself in the Christmas scent? Add a few drops of pine or cedar essential oil to the pinecones. You can also use any chemical-free fragrance oil with notes of fir and patchouli that will add a festive touch to your Christmas decorations.
