Create a personalized jellyfish keychain step by step

The materials you need to make handmade jellyfish keychains are:
- Ribbons of various colors and textures. We have used satin with dots, stripes, mouse tail, corrugated, thread, organza, etc.
- Cotton fabric
- Grosgrain ribbon Manubens P.480 with a width of 25mm to attach the keyring, in a color that complements the fabric.
- Cardboard and/or paper with a pen to draw the pattern.
- Cushion filling.
- Keyring.
- Embroidery thread.
- Scissors, thread, and sewing machine.
Tutorial for making personalized jellyfish keychains
The first step is to create the pattern. Draw a semicircle on cardboard or paper for the jellyfish body template. Place the fabric double and draw the pattern.
Cut the fabric, leaving a margin for sewing.
Cut about 8 cm of grosgrain ribbon, pass the keyring through it, and place it in the center of one of the fabric semicircles, as seen in the image.
Join the other fabric semicircle and sew, leaving the straight part open.
Turn the work inside out.
At 1 cm from the base, fold and iron.
Cut 10 cm of ribbons of different colors and textures for the jellyfish tentacles. Secure them with clips.
Sew the ribbons.
Place the cushion filling inside.
Sew a seam around the jellyfish body, right side out.
Use colored threads to embroider the eyes, mouth, and cheeks.
And there you have a super summery and fun handmade keychain!
As you can see, we made jellyfish in pink, blue, green, orange… but they look adorable in any color. So, you can make them in the colors you prefer.
