Tutorial for a Summery Lamp with Manubens Ribbons in Blue

Would you like to give a summery feel to the terrace lamp? Or perhaps renew the lampshade in the children’s room?

Surely, when you see how easy this tutorial is, you’ll feel like adding a touch of summer to your home. You need very few materials, and in the blink of an eye, you’ll have a lampshade with the colors you love.

As it’s summer, we’ve chosen the range of blues that remind us of the sea and the beach. You don’t need to follow our proposal to the letter: in the Manubens catalog, you can choose the range that you like the most or that suits your decoration and order the ribbons from your usual supplier.

To make the summery lamp, you need these materials:

  • Manubens P.117 hiladillo ribbon in various colors:
  • Color 0: natural
  • Color 16: sky blue
  • Color 20: navy blue
  • Color 21: turquoise
  • Color 22: marine blue
  • Lampshade structure.
  • Lamp holder.

How to make the ribbon lamp step by step:

Choose the color you want to use as a base and knot the ribbon with a double knot on the upper rod of the lampshade.

Pass the ribbon as seen in the photo in the direction you prefer. It doesn’t have to be symmetrical.

When you complete one round, change the color. Knot the first color to the second on the inside, making it well-tensed.

Continue passing the rounds, filling gaps. You can change direction if you wish.

Continue changing the ribbon colors until the lampshade is completely covered and without gaps.

Knot the last ribbon to a rod of the lampshade with a tight knot.

And… your summery lamp is ready to install!

How easy, right? Never throw away an old lampshade just because the fabric has come off! Covering it with ribbons is a fantastic way to refresh the decor and recycle.
